When you do something like change the format, people remember. Ocean noise followed that song.

IIRC, it was their own "branded" version of the song: "Life is a rock, but 'CFL rolled me," followed by two hours of ocean waves, then Lujack playing elevator music while still promoting a concert that was already set prior to the format flip. I forget the band - Kiss, maybe?
...for whatever it's worth, Bob Dearborn's last record on 'CFL (directly before Lujack's show) was "You're the Best Thing that Ever Happened to Me" by Gladys Knight & The Pips...SonoSational18 said:Confirming most of the above.... the last CFL jock on the air was Larry Lujack. The final 15 minutes or so went like this.... "American Pie" by Don McLean.... then "Mr. Lujack's Last Address To The Nation", in which his coveted endorsement went, instead of another Chicago station, to KHJ... then the customized version of "Life Is A Rock" by Reunion.... gongs, a final "I love you" and "Everybody get in the tub".... followed by ocean wave sfx. The best part of CFL's final hours were the other stations' spots running (WLS, WDAI. WBBM-FM, et. al) and Larry's comments before and after in his trademark deadpan style.

...and the last record on WLS in '89 was Chicago's "Just You 'n Me" (not Edward Bear's "Last Song," as the myth said for years)...
