Lat TV Questions

Lat TV finally debuted in Phoenix today. Couple of questions:1) Is their video/audio bad or are they just going through initial problems? The audio lags noticeably behind the video.2) Do they wildly cut away into and out of commercials? You never know when they're going to cut to community calendar - quite the adventure!

They are going through all kinds of headaches here in Houston. The transmitter didn't make it on the air until two weeks after the network launch, and then it had a very poor signal and low audio. Checking just now it appears the audio level issue has been corrected, but they are running program audio while switching through various test patterns (bars, multiburst, stairstep.) So looks like there is still much work to do. The LAT-TV Channel 30 OTA signal should be on a par with MultiMedios affiliate KHLM here, another LP which puts in a decent signal. A couple other co-located LP's do well at my location, but LAT-TV is pretty useless...obviously not running at full power or efficiency.

I recall reading somewhere that the owner of channel K30DN in Freeport had filed a grievance against KCVH-LP of Houston with the FCC about Houston's channel 30 causing inteference with Freeport's channel 30. Now that Broadcasting System (owner's of KCVH-LP Channel 30) has bought K30DN in Freeport one can only hope that Lat TV signal will be stronger.
