Late 70s Local Midday TV Host

Does anyone remember the name of the young(ish) female host who parted company with, I think, Channel 12 under (alleged) unpleasant terms? I think she had a French sounding name.

What I remember hearing back in the day was she had been most ungracious to her guest, a gent of Italian heritage. That ring any bells? I do remember hearing she later married a professional athlete.

No, to my knowledge Nancy Lopez never performed hosting/interviewing duties on Cincinnati television in the late 70s. (I think she'd have been on the LPGA tour at the time.) This woman was a professional broadcaster, probably in her mid/late 20s at the time. She either hosted a daily noon(ish) local interview program, or hosted an interview segment within other local noon programming, maybe the news. I think she was on WKRC/Channel 12.

No, neither of those. As I said initially, I remember her having a French sounding name, first name maybe Danielle or something similar.

I was in school at UC when she left the station. Her getting fired The word was she wanted out of her local contract, and may have been trying to get fired. She did leave, and I think she went either to NYC or Philly. She eventually married a pro athlete, I think a baseball player.

I heard there a similar incident in the late '70s, probably when I was too young to even remember, except I thought it was at Channel 5.

And you are correct, it was channel 5, presenters name was Danielle Folquet. Here's the story:

Ironically she got fired for calling a co-worker a "wop," then married MLB's Lee Mazzilli. Story I heard was she wanted to leave her job in Cincinnati, but Channel 5 refused to let her out of her contract. So, she endeavored to get herself fired. All worked out for her.

Thanks for those who offered help. I must have finally come up with the right word salad to get Google to spit out that article.
