Late Late Show with ???

CBS hasn't made any announcement for Craig Ferguson.

They took less than 2 weeks to name Stephen Colbert to replace David Letterman.

But not a peep from CBS on Fergusons replacement.
 
Well, people don't seem to be lining up to apply for the job. CBS is also getting some flack from the femi-nazis for not considering a woman for The Late Show and not indicating a willingness to consider one for this show.

Then, there's always the possibility that CBS will not hire anybody. The owned stations (plus major affiliates) might prefer to have the time for themselves. Money may be an issue here, too: Anybody CBS wants to go against Seth may be more than they want to pay. The show never has been a money maker. CBS can always do an earlier state of Up To The Minute for little additional production expense.

Didn't you read my post? CBS made the announcement a week ago. Here it is:

CBS has added the final piece to its late-night makeover, replacing Scottish host Craig Ferguson with British actor James Corden at the Late Late Show, which airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT.

From his Wikipedia page:

James Kimberley Corden (born 22 August 1978)[1] is an English stage, television and film actor, comedian, television comedy writer, producer and presenter and the upcoming host of The Late Late Show with James Corden on CBS.

To be honest, all I did was Google the topic, and I got the answer quickly. No viruses in doing that. It took a whole lot less time than perpetuating this thread.

You sound like they should just go out and pick any woman at random and throw her into the host chair. Hosting a late-night talk show requires a very particular set of skills. Look at how many people have failed in the past three decades, most of them men. Even people who later became very successful TV talk show hosts on daytime shows failed at late night.

Frankly, the most disgustingly sexist concept around is to give an unqualified woman a shot at doing the show just because she's a woman. The loudest voice right now about not giving a woman a shot is that talentless queen of the "D" List, Kathy Griffin. Even if Griffin were a man, she still doesn't have the skill set needed to be a late-night talk show host. Frankly, I think Chelsea Handler might have done reasonably well. Then again, she might not.

Anyone with a little insightful imagination could probably list several women who would be good candidates for hosting a late-night talk show. Of the top of my head, four former SNL cast members come to mind: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristin Wiig, and Julie Louis-Dreyfus. With some experience and mentoring, some of these women from stand-up comedy might become good talk show hosts: Amy Schumer, Maria Bamford, and Carol Leifer. Jenny McCarthy might make an excellent late night host. One consideration that cannot be ignored is that it's doubtful that any of them would actually want to host a late-night talk show.
 
I never said anything about qualifications, my comment was about your femi-nazi comment, dismissing all women in one shot. Yes, a QUALIFIED woman or man. You mentioned some very good candidates, but my original post was about women complaining that there were no women being considered, and you dismissing them with the Limbaugh type comment.
