Do you think anybody has any potential to be another Johnny Carson ? Right now, Letterman's show seems the closest. I think Jon Stewart might be the best interviewer.
Any opinions?

Stewart is an all right interviewer. Craig Ferguson is hands down the best. His interviews are most always extemporaneous and he has a knack of making the interviewee comfortable and able to appear natural. Half the time the person interviewed barely gets to the thing they were appearing to plug (be it a tv show, book, movie etc.). To me, Craig's interviews seem less like a publicity tour for a celebrity's agenda thereby making them more enjoyable.MsMusicRadio said:Do you think anybody has any potential to be another Johnny Carson ? letterman is NOT this generation's Carson, IF he was, he would have beaten Leno like Carson beat ALL who opposed him in late night TV.bpatrick said:Especially given that Carson's company produced "Late
Night With David Letterman." Seems that Leno gladhanded
the NBC affiliates, won them over, and got them to put the
good word in to make him Carson's successor.
Letterman probably is this generation's Carson, but as many,
many people have said over the years, he's really a throwback
to Steve Allen and Ernie Kovacs. And I don't think he'd deny it.
