Late night tornado warning

I'm listening to WBAP & KRLD's coverage of the current tornado warning. It has me wondering, how many stations that are automated overnight auto repeat tornado warnings in the metroplex from the EAS?

The little ticket is letting all the EAS warnings cut in over the network programming.

Last I'd heard, Krista Villareal from KTVT was doing their weather bulletins. Me, I'd gone wall-to-wall with coverage like the TV stations did. When I first tuned in WBAP and KRLD (1:45AM-2:45AM, the peak of Dallas Cty activity,) both were running regular programming. With tornado warnings covering their main listening areas, I think that was a very poor judgment call, ESPECIALLY after 11's Larry Mowry kept directing people to tune in KRLD in case their electricity went off. I know Charley Jones' smooth voice would be most comforting as the roof blows off the house. At least KRLD did do semi-regular cut-ins. I gave up on WBAP...nothing like Gary McNamara's voice of political reason cranked up over the freight train-like noise. Then again, I'd hate that to be my last memory on earth.

Even if Barton and Co are still in bed, at least pipe in WFAA's or KTVT's audio.

I was up when the power went off at my house around 1:45. I grabbed my wife's cell phone and tuned in to WBAP-FM. The trucker show was at that time. But at 2am Brad Barton was on and gave me updates.

I switched back and forth between 820 and 1080 and both were breaking in at regular intervals. KRLD was almost nonstop in the 1 a.m. hour because I missed most of Mike In East Texas.
