Actually, I believe ABC ceased their's in January of 1992, the weekend (or possibly the night) before "World News Now" premiered. I remember there was some tie-in between "The Weekend Report" going off the air and "World News Now" premiering.

Incidently, NBC dropped "Nightside," it's overnight news program (produced by NBC's affiliate service in Charlotte, NC) in 1999.
