Dale is getting stale, though. He needs a good shake up. Andelman and Arnold had good chemistry, despite what some on this board feel. Doesn't matter, though, sports in this region is automatic. That's why I say get rid of 890 or 1510 and turn it progressive.

Sports media whores--the ones who scoop up every 'paid' opportunity they can to appear on TV and/or radio--are well known to us all. I put Butch Stearns in that category, and anyone from the Boston Globe whose last name is Shaughnessy or Ryan. There are many others who are like Hoovers when it comes to their 'guest appearances.' But Dale--even though he had two gigs--wasn't really like that. But it does underscore a point: In his quest to vacuum up two fat paychecks, Dale now only has one. And it's got to be tough saying things like 'I LOVE the Jacobs Brothers!! I really do!" on WEEI while laughter echoes from Boston to the blueberry patches in Maine.

As for Edwards, I'll agree with the 'Ugggh' sentiment. Opie Taylor doing the Bruins won't ever prompt me to watch the games as long as he's doing them. Edwards was a marginal (putting it kindly) sportscaster on the nightly news. Now he's 'The Man' (patent applied for) of Bruins telecasts. The obvious and lasting question is who did he kiss to make that happen, and where did he kiss them?

The only thing more boring than hockey itself is hockey talk. Hockey is soccer on skates. I'm hoping that Dale's separation from the Bruins puts and end to hockey talk on the mid day show. It's never discussed in the AM and Sheppard is the only one who ever mentions it in the afternoon. With a little luck it'll never be discussed again.

Dale works well with Michael Holly on EEI. Bruins have become almost irrealvant in Boston.NESN ratings take nose dive after Oct 1 until next March in Florida.

Can you imagine if NESN didn't take themselves off the premium tier years ago? They would have no subscribers after October. You can only take so much of Charlie Moore. Better to extort a few cents from everyone rather than try to get $10 from Bruins' die-hards (who are falling faster than leaves in October).

granted, no one watches nesn from october to march but every cable sub, regardless whether they're a hockey fan or not, who has nesn on their standard tier still pays them almost three bucks a month. you just don't see it itemized on your cable bill. cable tv is one industry that needs stricter federal regulations.
