LATEST ANTENNA TV NEWS

Antenna TV will debut at midnight New Years Eve EST. The voice of Antenna TV will be Gary Owens! They have changed plans to broadcast only first episodes on New Years Day and will now have a Three Stooges and Benny Hill marathon that weekend instead. The Stooges will run till 3AM on Sunday when Benny Hill will take over till 10AM.......then some kids shows......then Benny returns 1PM to 5AM Monday.

Upon launch ATV will be available in 50 million homes. Comcast will be adding the channel in
some markets (ch 353 in Chicago). Here's how ATV stacks up in the top markets:

NEW YORK WPIX
Estrella 11.2
Antenna TV 11.3
This TV 11.4

LOS ANGELES KTLA
Antenna TV 5.2
This TV 5.3

CHICAGO WGN
Antenna TV 9.2

REMEMBER you will probably have to re-scan your digital channels if on antenna.

I read someone said something about seeing a test pattern or something on KTLA regarding Antenna TV/This. Maybe it was for 5.3.

Hope it comes to Greenville, SC - 62.3, 4.3, or 21.3 would be perfect....

Wow, who approved that arrangement? "Kids shows" airing right smack dab in the middle of a marathon of the adult-oriented "Benny Hill" show. I know the commitment to get in that E/I programming is important (guarantee you that's what "kids shows" they're planning to air) but that's just hilarious.

Antenna TV is ready to go in 14 of the top 25 markets.
Here are the top 11 markets that so far DON'T HAVE ANTENNA TV
We need to give these places/stations a "wake-up" call.......we don't want to miss out!!!

No test pattern yet for WPIX 11.4. I would think any new subchannel would go up with a test pattern prior to network launch.

#18 Nassau-Suffolk

WPIX pretty much covers all of Nassau-Suffolk.

Is there a chance that the subchannel is unmapped? WGN-TV has 9.2 unmapped at the moment. The RF channel is 19.4, & for TV's & DTV boxes that can pickup the unmapped channels, will show the test pattern of Antenna TV Coming Soon. My Magnavox DTV box (TB100MW9) will only pickup channels that are mapped. If the PSIP channel isn't already being used by an RF channel, then I can enter the RF channel, & if the channel is mapped, it'll go to the mapped channel. WGN-TV's RF channel is 19. I can enter 19.1 (actual RF channel is 19.3, which most TV tuners use) & it'll go to 9.1. 19.2 & up won't go to anything on my DTV box, & says No Signal. So until WGN-TV maps 19.4 back to 9.2, my DTV box doesn't see 19.4, since it's unmapped.

Note: For TV's & DTV boxes that use "-" instead of ".", replace the "." with "-".

Those market ranks are for arbitron radio market rankings and antenna tv is on the tv which is rated by neilsen and the markets are different for tv. Nassau-Suffolk is not a separate tv market.

Swap these two around and you got it. KTLA lit up 5.3 earlier this week and the PSIP identifies it as Antenna TV. It's currently only mirroring the programming of THIS on 5.2 but KTLA looks to be ready to flip the switch when Antenna launches.

Sorry about the markets mix-up. I was going by what is on Radio-Info.
KTLA info was from another source.....also.

Yes, I would think these new sub-channels would start putting up some kind
of test pattern......very soon.

I believe those markets don't have any Tribune stations... they probably will get them sooner in the new year, or maybe they could get a deal with Tribune to carry them on a non-Tribune station before Antenna TV officially launches.

this is when i wish whdh didnt buy wlvi cause i would be getting this tv on wlvi's sub channel!!! which doesn't exist yet!

Wikipedia say Retro TV now has 115 affiliates (mostly sub channels). Does anybody know
how many stations RTV had at debut? I'm guessing it was less than the 35 or so Antenna TV has.

I really hope charter carries KTLA 5-3...since we have no OTA reception

I hope Time Warner in my area picks up KTLA 5.3 as well; they don't currently carry This TV. It's the rabbits ears for me.

Their website links are now directing you to the WGN America website. Maybe they are putting
together a better site, as the old one looked like something they just threw together anyway.

Atlanta has a new sub. It is on 36.2 (My Network TV) a sister station to WXIA 11 NBC. The new sub is showing local radar weather which is also on 11.2. TV 36 was owned by Tribune a few years ago. I'm thinking this may be our new spot for Antenna TV (36.2).

Seems crazy to have two subs showing the same radar weather, but anything is possible.
