Latest Boston Ratings 1/6-2/2

The first post Christmas ratings are out ages 6 and up. https://radioinsight.com/ratings/boston/
WBZ-FM is the number one station with an impressive rating. WMJX is back to about where they were pre Christmas. The two AMs continue to perform very well. WRKO has one of the highest ratings in a long time. Jeff, Grace and Howie continue to d liver their targeted audience. It would not be a surprise to see higher ratings for these two with the Russian conflict. Boston supports Live and local and not syndicated talk programming.

WRKO's rating soared because CK was off the air for a month w/ COVID.

Wow KISS 108 is still down ... yes I know 6+ yada yada yada, but being below 6 for a while now, while still a good number and probably higher in their target demo is a far cry from their glory days

Mix 104.1? If there was something else to put there (again 6+) would that format be in danger of being flipped?

The Sports Hub remains uber strong! Even in the Providence market, their Boston signal ranks higher than WEEI's local carrier!

The Top 10 tremain strong!

Public Radio seeing an uptick.

Interesting to see WERS taking a reasonable rating, considering it being non-profit. Not surprising though, as I do tend to tune in when listening to radio myself.

And Mix 104.1? The station desperately needs some fresh paint!

And as we remind you every month RKO s 12 + numbers are meaningless. In the demos that count RKO is still in the cellar. The RKO cost per spot in morning drive reflects their poor ratings

Care to quote what is on their rate card for am drive time
I don't know anyone who buys spots based on a rate card but I can tell you can get the average cost per spot down to between $100.00 and $125.00 a spot. This is based on conversations I have had with a RKO Sales Rep.Kuhner basically has 3 consistent advertisers the Dentist that takes him an hour and half to drive from Wrentham to her office in Danvers. His testimonial claims that she is one of the best dentists in New England but he only goes for a teeth cleaning. I sincerely doubt Dr. WU cleans teeth so why that would be in the copy is beyond me. Kelley Financial Services and Mr. Pillow. The car dealers who have run on his program did not renew and the restaurant in Manchester NH he is always betting a steak at hasn't been on in years. I was told the BBQ Grill place in Arlington got a good response but they didn't renew

Rate cards are pretty much a phantom. Rates adjust for every buy to make the station come in at each buy's CPP goal.

And even were a rate card fixed, a pure AMD buy pays much higher than an ROS buy that includes some spots in mornings.

Local restaurants are almost always trade or bad debt.

Kuhner basically has 3 consistent advertisers

Certainly there are some adult-diaper and viagra stores in the Boston metro area who would buy air time?
