Latest Buffalo radio station moves detailed here

That is one of the most clueless posts I have ever seen in terms of what impacts ratings. As David rightly points out, 90 minutes over the entire ratings period is statisically meaningless. With most markets having a TSL of about 20 minutes at a time, that outage (if, as I presume, was a 90-minute period on a single day) was probably not even noticed by 95% or more of the audience, as they weren't trying to listen during that period.

Please tell me ... what thought process caused you to arrive at a different conclusion?

I'm sorry you don't like my post. I don't work in radio so I don't know. I'm going based off what another individual said about the subject.

Seven stations off the air in morning drive is no laughing matter. Imagine the lost revenue, probably in six figures... at least on four of the seven stations. Traffic must have had a thrilling time scheduling make goods.

So this was a "post for the sake of posting" comment. *sigh*

The post to which you refer concerned REVENUE, and while I might have considered employing the [/exaggeration] tag regarding potential lost revenue, the fact is, going silent for 90 minutes in morning drive can account for a good number of dollars, all of which were made up, perhaps... perhaps some at a premium.

As to the original post on this thread regarding the state of affairs at Cumulus, people familiar with programming and personnel in that cluster say it's a better place now that the top down Dickey lackeys are out, and Berner and her regime have taken charge. As it relates to ratings, Cumulus stations appear to have had a good WINTER BOOK at least as far as Persons 12+ goes, which isn't saying much. But if Persons 12+ reflects an uptick in 25-54 or 18-49, the stations are trending in the right direction, especially if the new 97 morning show is clicking and the Edge morning show surpassed WGR. "If" being the operative word.

Certain people in the Cumulus cluster may be overtasked, but they know the alternative is the unemployment line, so they do what needs to be done at all cost and soldier on. Pros.
