Latest CC cuts.

Not talked about on this board but CC is cutting a ton of people. In Marion a few are out at WMRN-FM 94.3 & 1490AM. Also Mickie on The Brew is gone, she was VT'd from WIOT.

That's too bad. I thought she was really good. Guess she wasn't top 3 in her demo up there. Reportedly the cuts are not going to be as severe in the larger markets, including Columbus.

the cuts are going to be deep everywhere no shoo. not sure where you source your info, but it's a bit flawed. deep cuts company wide.

From today's Taylor on Radio-Info, wilson1000island:

Clear Channel’s large markets can exhale – there was little talk of cuts at the Chicago meeting.
TRI hears the conversation was mostly about sales, not cutbacks. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any. (Yesterday’s TRI told you about the surprise departure of New York-based regional controller Dennis Campagna.) But RIFs don’t seem to have been high on agenda. TimeOut Chicago’s Robert Feder got a preview of the agenda from John Hogan, who says - “Our Chicago meetings are for our largest markets and will focus on our revenue opportunities and strategies for 2012… We’ll be working with our market managers and DOS (sales managers) as well as ops managers (programmers) to share with them our latest and greatest advertiser opportunities.” And that’s apparently the way it went – those markets are being treated differently from the “regional” markets.

Hope he's right.  Of course having "job creator" Mitt Romney's baby, Bain Capital, calling the shots at CC (along with Lee Partners) makes me less optimistic.
