I see Z-93 is down a share, wonder if Apex translator 99.3 THE BOX is taking away listeners. 95SX gained a lot! Apex may need to think about MIX 95.9 going Top 40 hits (with some rap).

I've never heard a more boring classic rock station than Q-104.5. Playing that corporate-mandated playlist takes the life out of the station. Classic rock signals are dying left and right because most offer no real reason to listen post-AM drive. My Spotify classic rock category blows the water out of CC's CR playlist. And it's over 1000 titles.

Q is terrible. It's been the same for at least a decade. 200 songs, just the most popular songs by the most popular artists.

Most, if not all, Clear Channel classic rockers use the same playlist. During summer nights in Myrtle Beach, it was not uncommon to hear at least three CC CR's on the FM band running the same playlist. Q-104 in Charleston and Eagle 105.7 in Augusta, GA were in almost every night with another one or two popping in from time to time. Usually, the CRs were within three minutes of each other in programming.

Bob and Tom is a Midwestern morning show. Doesn't fit well in a market like Charleston anymore. Q has carried it since it began in '95.

Free Beer & Hot Wings.....Ace & TJ....we can slam them all we want, but they're employed. They're syndicated. Someone who makes hiring and firing decisions likes them. And there are a LOT of more talented people working retail right now or whatever. We can slam them, but at the same time, you gotta envy them a little.

Free Beer & Hot Wings.....Ace & TJ....we can slam them all we want, but they're employed. They're syndicated. Someone who makes hiring and firing decisions likes them. And there are a LOT of more talented people working retail right now or whatever. We can slam them, but at the same time, you gotta envy them a little.

I don't envy them one iota. The show is cheap, barely gets the job done (not a ratings bonanza) and fills hours that would be otherwise filled with local talent. You can envy them, but my standards are a bit higher.

Boston, "envy" comes in many forms. What is enviable is the fact that they are employed, in radio no less. Many radio pros with far more experience or talent are not.

So, what I meant to say was, envy their situation, not their talent - or lack thereof.

Sumter's news station programs the same 10 public service commercials "back to back " or dead air many mornings after the FOX news feed. They feed their morning remote interviews on an Internet link that fails regularly with no recovery system....so more dead air. How is that for morning programming?
