Steve Crumbley has resigned as OM of Cumulus in Mobile to take the OM gig at 107.3 JAMZ with Cox in Greenville, SC. Look for a candidate with country and/or rock experience to be his replacement.

Just confirmed: WYOK will begin stunting Country around Thanksgiving.

I thought WYOK might have been changing formats before, myself. But, after seeing the 12+ number from the Summer book, I've got to believe that it's making its rebound and is not going anywhere. Having worked there, I know that the station has more than likely regained its pre-Ivan position, 18-34, if not gained some ground... just by looking at the 12+ number. Not too bad for a station without a PD at the moment, my feelings about a certain person involved with that station aside.

At this point in time, if WYOK flipped, I would be rather surprised.

I personally hope they don't flip. It's nice to finally live in a market that has two good CHRs. Besides, the last thing Mobile-Pensacola needs is ANOTHER country station.
 
Gary Pizzatti will get fired before that happens. He has dug himself into a huge hole from what I've heard. Any truth to the rumor that he is being "courted" lately? And not the dating defintion...
