I noticed that KZLA (KMVN) slips further in the ratings while KYSR goes up. In fact, KZLA's loss was exactly KYSR's gain. Did all those county bumpkins go to KYSR? KIIS is flat from last trend. The ratings game should become very exciting once Movin' gets Dees and other jocks on the air. I hope Movin' creams KIIS and CC.

That is correct. KZLA was in the new format I think maybe a week. It looked like a heavy Santa Clarita month (KYSR always has one of those each book). It also looked O.C. as KDLD and KLOS fared well.

Power 106 and KXOL both seem to be the big benefactors of KKBT flipping to Urban AC. Meanwhile, kudos to KJLH who continues to hang in there. And, say what you want, the Mike Marino machine keeps rolling at KHHT - despite the additional competition of KKBT as an Urban AC, and Steve Harvey in the morning at KDAY.

I don't think we can judge anything about KMVN until the full Fall book is released.

And how low will KLSX (Free FM) go until Opie & Anthony are placed in mornings? KLSX is now tied with KFWB for the sorriest CBS station title in the market.

K-Earth continues to move nowhere. So Jhani Kaye has done absolutely nothing for the station (except make it sound worse than ever).

Yes we can judge KMVN already. There is a buzz about it on the streets. And it will again get a ton of publicty next Monday and beyond with the return of Rick Dees to the airwaves. Right at the start of the fall book. It couldn't get better for them.

I would not make that statement about KHHT. Nights with Art Laboe will be unbeatable but with Movin in the market, Hot's ratings are bound to dip.

As for KJLH, a station that has had no growh for ages is not a success. It's quite possible that KDAY will soon eclipse them in the ratings. I'm surprised The Beat hasn't dipped even lower yet.

The only buzz is coming off of the illuminated billboards trumpeting Rick Dees in the morning that have been up for about three weeks now and Rick still nowhere to be found.

Real "Buzz" would have been created if they did the format flip unannounced at 6:00 am on a Friday morning with a full-on four hour Rick Dees show, with a slew of high profile guests and plenty of music that will be on the format.

Word would have travelled around SoCal quickly as the morning progressed and it would be the only radio topic to discuss for all of that Friday and the weekend. Rick of course could have heavily promoted the Monday show (which would also be a blockbuster production) and give listeners a reason to set their radios on the new frequency right then and there.

Where is Rick Dees MIA? The promos have been running since last week. He's back starting on Sunday with the Weekly Top 40 and Monday his morning show returns after over a 2 1/2 year absence in Los Angeles. He will get TONS of publicity next week on L.A. local tv and newspapers.

It would have been a waste for Movin to have started Dees just days after they went on the air. This way they get twice as much publicity. And this time the publicity will be at the start of the fall book. It's BRILLIANT.

Emmis has played their cards very well with the timing of the format flip - just hours before the beginning of the 3-day sold out Faith Hill/Tim McGraw concert at the Staples Center - and Rick Dees start date. I think your comments are quite shortsighted.

One note, I think the tv spots and the billboards - especially the color scheme - SUCK. Some of the worst I've ever seen in this market.
