Louisville Latest Ratings

The NOV-JAN ratings are out. The biggest surprise is QMF's strong showing and SFR's big drop. This is shocking to me since QMF's playlist is so tight. They have been playing the same 200 songs for 20 years. Rarely do they play a song post 2000. Yes, SFR has also been playing the same songs for 20+ years, but they play almost everything that QMF plays but also the classic rock bands QMF dropped a few years ago (Bryan Adams, CCR, Elton John, Phil Collins, Billy Joel, Doobie Brothers, Loverboy, Allman Brothers to name a few).

WSFR may have something to do with Summit's commercialization of the station. Dropping a lot of local jocks, and ditching "The Eagle" for a basic name that's used on all their stations around the country. I mean, look at WVEZ for the way WSFR is heading. They're pretty much jockless now, just a syndicated morning show and one local afternoon host. Even their website is broken, and still shows their Christmas logo. Summit obviously isn't prioritizing their Louisville stations.

And now the once mighty WHAS is in a three way tie for ninth place with Kiss 98.9 and Classic Rock 107.7.
It's most surprising to see WFPL above them. If I had to guess, I would say that having Nick Coffey in the mornings doesn't exactly click with their audience. They took a 65 year old guy (about the age of their audience) and replaced him with a 37 year old (about half the age of their audience). Then again, they can't exactly get a morning host who is the age of their audience because their audience is the oldest it's ever been.

So sad😢😢 to see...Whas and wamz use to be number 1 and 2 all the time or vice versa...What happened to whas dropping so low???But it's about the numbers under the numbers not so much the overall numbers...
