Anyone notice the HUGE bump that MIX received this latest trend? Not sure if that included all the Christmas #'s are not. But the fact, they have jumped to #3 12+ (.5 over G105) is crazy. Good job to those guys. I'll be anxious to see the final book numbers.

Maybe the fact no one is chatting about shows that most posters are clear channel folks. KISS is falling apart...wonder how much longer that will last.

Yeah, I don't have a clue who you're talking about. I assumed the MIX was a Raleigh station since the poster is RaleighRadioGuy, but, do you mean KISS, Clear Channel's Greensboro station, or somewhere else?

MIX/WRAL numbers just prove the aging of the radio audience.

The KISS they're talking about has got to be WMKS in G'boro; they'd do better rebranding that Kiss as a top 40 and go after 1075 KZL rather than 97.1 QMG. Another problem with MKS: Their signal, which they completely butchered when they moved the former WFMX from Statesville to Clemmons, STILL sucks...
 
I can only hope that the current KISS station in the Triad will someday be flipped to Top 40. I exited KZL just over two years ago and would really like to work at a Top 40 station again. It isn't that I dislike anyone at KZL, there is no where else in this market for me to work. Friendly competition amongst stations always creates a better product.

Maybe the flip will happen someday.

There's no doubt that the hole in the market is CHR. KZL is walking away with the money. They're the only young game in town. Clear Channel's missing the boat with Kiss. It's never going to win against WQMG. Entercom has a lock on Urban and that's that. They're really entrenched. A good CHR would be a nice compliment to WMAG. OR, maybe that will be WPAW's next format. :D Will be interesting to see who does it first!

If you have lived in NC for any time you know who Mix is.
There is only one.
 
ummm...there's a MIX in the Charlotte market also. Most of us who don't live or work in the Triangle (and that would be the vast majority of NC residents) don't know (or care) much about Triangle stations.

Agreed 100%.. At one time WEZC was MIX 104.7 in Charlotte with Chuck Boozer..I always thought they were pretty hot..What happened there Sheridan, I know you know!
 
Mask Man, the punch at WPAW is one of the most ignorant statements I have ever seen on this board. Number 1: You must work for CC. Number 2: For what reason would a station like The Wolf flip formats when it is doing so well in the market ? Hopefully this was your attempt at humor. Like I said you must work for CC. :p
 
abcgirl is correct. The Wolf has made ground beef of WTQR in less than one year. Simon routinely beats WMAG. I would never have believed it and I'm sure the staff there is in denial. But the numbers and revenues don't lie. Now Mr. Meyer is charged with fixing the mistakes of Harlow and Bohannan. Don't unpack the U-Haul Tex. This one is a mess and WPAW's not going anywhere except farther up CC's butt. Ouch.
 
hmm, looks like 'pack' must work for Entercom ;D

i bet this board is just one huge CC vs Entercom anonymous pissing matching...
 
I never understood the statement that young adults don't spend money. Young adults spend constantly. They get there paychecks and go buy the i-pods, the PS3's, the XBox's, the coach purses, clothes, food, going out to bars and getting drinks etc... If some of these managers in the radio industry got there head out of there butts and realized this then a CHR or a alternative station could work in the triad.

Good grief! Get a grip! You sound a little insecure. It was an off the cuff comment and not intended to be as serious as you're taking it. Why are you so defensive if you think the station is doing so well? Seems like you'd just laugh at anyone who thinks otherwise.
Entercom has made some good moves against CC, no doubt. It will either break WTQR or make them a much better station. AND...everyone who doesn't like The Paw is not with CC for cryin' out loud!

Tell 'em Mask Man..Everyone's so jumpy.. Hell I don't like ANY of that hillbilly BS...and I don't work for Entercom, CC or Curtis... COX, Maybe!!
