104.7 highest numbers ever.... politics and baseball....

Y108...worst numbers in a long time and they don't seem to have gone to the Frogs....

And I'm truly saddened to report that the awful new Q is up slightly from LTJ, and it appears to be at least somewhat at Star's expense.

And to illustrate a point to those who put a lot of stock in KD's 2nd place 12+ numbers, a friend of mine shared with me the fact that their 25-54 numbers middays are down there in the WPTT/KQV/970 range. I kid you not.

I would assume WDVE?
That's unbelievable about KDKA though. Clear Channel did a great job of referring to them as... "your grandparents station. How's the b coming along? This is the time for CHR, so if it happens, it'll be now.

KDKA is now looking over their shoulder at 104.7. Even another bad Pirate season is helping them.

Was surprised at the new Q's upswing.

And gotta love that consistent .4 for WKFB.

Country hitting another one of those dry spells it runs into every five years where nothing sounds good for months on end before some hot act comes out of nowhere and beats the whole format out of the doldrums. Doesn't help that Y108's morning show has gone dead flat at the same time.

Not surprising about KD or B at all. No direction from the top.

Amazing how anything that resembles a not quite laughable baseball team pumps the numbers up like that. Imagine if they won.

Out of curiosity, do the 50,000 watt AM powerhouses in similar markets, such as WTAM in Cleveland, WLW in Cincinnati, KMOX in St. Louis, etc. do better with the 25-54 demographic?

I don't really know but I think the answer is yes. What killed KD mid-days was losing Rush.

TAM has Rush and then Mike Trivisano, a mostly sports, very Cleveland show in PM drive, so I think they for one do pretty well. I think WLW does better, and although they aren't quite a 50kW, WFLA in Tampa does reasonably well with Beck and Rush (Beck was the local PM drive show there before he went national).

Does anyone have a copy of the promo that Quinn cut just prior to Rush moving from KDKA to 104.7? I'm talking about the one where Quinn did his best Rush impersonation sayings "From the cutting edge of societal evolution" and then it cutting to a baseball game. Then another voice said something along the lines of "That won't happen any more because Rush is coming to 104.7", or words to that effect. It was a long time ago, and I didn't memorize the exact words.

Does anyone else remember that?

And going w/that "Round Mound" monotone jerkoff and whoever the maroon is that follows 'im (or is The Mound on mid-a/noon?).

Paulson's a good fit for Honz (he still on??), but I've not listened lately to KD but sporadically.

Where did The X place? I'm listening more, but that could just be better new 'Modern Rock' songs being released and the occasional 'deeper-cut' of heavy/hard rock...

I'm interested in the X numbers as well. They've dumped a bunch of 90's tunes into a regular rotation - made it more interesting to listen to (at least for a 40-yr old male). For awhile there, it seemed as if they didn't play anying that wasn't angry, loud, screaming, cookie-monster-vocals and overprocessed metal guitar. Maybe they're trying to pick-up some male 25-54's?

Latest book is out. NEVER thought I'd see the day when KDKA might fall to #3. 104.7 followed its latest trend to a very good book. CBS is really having problems in this market. Good help is hard to find!

Again surprised at the Q's small growth, considering how terrible it sounds.
