LATV finally coming to Phoenix?

Not that I've been waiting for the channel, but given the city's large Hispanic population, I'm surprised it hasn't appeared sooner. Adjacent Tucson, Yuma/El Centro and Las Vegas markets have had LATV for a long time.

I think I caught LATV testing on KPDF-LD, channel 41.2. It had no audio, and the video was subpar, but watchable, with a large, clear LATV logo in the upper right corner of the screen. Minutes later, it was gone altogether, replaced by the "channel for lease" slide.

I thought it ceased operations. The Sacramento FOX station dropped it from 40.2 months ago. Now just a notice saying "LATV no longer available". 40.2 is now slated for antennaTV in January 2011.

Nope, Tribune and Local TV just dropped LATV on all the stations that they owned which had carried it, including WPIX in New York. In most of those places, it has not found a new affiliate.

They're now airing LATV on channel 41.3.

With much better audio and video quality too. I think I'm going to have to go back and finish Kindergarten, though. I have my right and left mixed up. :)

So I wonder what will go on 41.2 then?
