Let the record show that Matt Lauer isn't even as funny as a torn piece of paper.

YouTube's celebrated "laughing baby," 8-month-old Micah McArthur, took his 5 million hits all the way to the set of "Today" on Mar. 4, and as much as Lauer and co-host Meredith Vieira tried to recreate the magic, Micah just wasn't feeling it.

Honestly, we've got to give it to Micah for being even-tempered about the whole ordeal. If Matt Lauer fake sneezed in our face we'd go postal.

Isn't that always the way with babies and animals? It
reminds me of the time a woman brought a parrot onto
Groucho's "You Bet Your Life," and the bird wouldn't open
its beak; or the time another woman brought her dog, who
supposedly could talk (it did make a few humanoid sounds
in rehearsal) onto "Ted Mack's Amateur Hour," and with the
lights and the audience, the dog just sat there, panting.
And I'm sure there are dozens more incidents like these.

Johnny Carson would sometimes fly an animal out to appear on the show and it wouldn't do anything. the funniest was chicken that crapped on his desk. He quipped, "I flew this chicken 3000 miles just to take a dump on my desk?" got a big laugh.
