Laura Bell Bundy on KKBQ

I noticed the #1 most played song on KKBQ is Laura Bell Bundy-Giddy On Up. KILT isn't playing it. I looked at a random sample of country playlists and nobody was playing it. I see it's in the 40s on the national chart...I wonder if that's mostly due to KKBQ spins?

What's the story with this song? Is Bundy a local Houston artist? I think the song is fun, I would guess it would appeal to younger country fans. I did see criticism on youtube where somebody called her the "Ke$ha of country music". I do respect KKBQ for making a local hit of a song that is getting little or no airplay elsewhere. Few stations have the guts to do things like that these days.

You are right..my mistake. I wonder if this song is getting any significant airplay outside of Houston?

I was doing Mornings at Zeta-4 in Miami when Laura Bell's older brother Ted was executed. Man what a show that was! You talk about bad taste! We're lucky we didn't get sued, but pretty much everybody in Florida hated Ted. I still have it on tape around here somewhere.

I'm surprised to learn Bundy had a sister, though. I know reports say he was told his mom was actually his aunt throughout part of his childhood. How strange.
