Laura Flanders on Majority Report tonight

If you haven't had an opportunity to listen to Laura Flanders who has a show on the weekends on AAR, this is a good time to sample her as she is guest-hosting the Majority Report tonight. In addition to her weekend show on AAR, Laura Flanders is host of "The Laura Flanders Show" heard Monday through Friday, on KWAB in Boulder,CO.

I find her informed and enjoyable, I hope you will too. Post feedback if you can take the time to listen to her tonight or on Saturdays (7pm to 10m) on AAR.

Listened to an hour of it tonight. I prefer Seder and Janeane but I like her accent. I expected more preparation from her- might be she was a last minute sub and didn't have enough time to prepare. Made a small mistake on the number of people who opposed the war before we went in but corrected after the break. Lost interest during interview with Mother who lost son in War protesting out in front of the crawford estate, interview was dragging a bit- sounded like a Katie Couric or (gasp!) Anne Currie (sp?) interview. Might pull that off on the weekends but won't play with the core weekday MR constituency...

Thanks Rob, i agree that she may not have had a lot of time to prep tonight but I appreciate her doing what happens rarely in talk radio, she corrected a mistake. I think that's always a good thing.

I don't agree with her interview being like Couric or Currie...but no problem with your view point at all. Thanks for taking the time to give her a listen....

You asked a good question, and thats true i think. Would she appeal to MR regular listeners. I agree, I doubt it, but shes just filling in. Ill take a fill in host before a "Best-of" any day of the week, no matter who the host is.

I said this myself for example when Johnny Wendell was filling in for Stephanie Miller. While I didn't enjoy the Wendell show as much as I would Stephanie, there was at least an alternative host, not a rerun.

Again, thanks for your feedback

I absolutely agree. It is always better than a repeat!

I think I heard him sub for Steph on the 4th of July. He really got me a riled up! I think he might be good late night..?

Welcome!

So do I, they need to give her a 2 hour weekday slot. She is on-topic, easy to listen to, responsive and a great interviewer. I always wondered why she was tucked away on Saturday afternoon.<P ID="signature">______________

HEY! No (gasp!)ing allowed!

[Yes, that was a joke..a bad one, but a joke non-the-less]

Sorry. Had to lighten my mood up a bit...I've been rather serious lately.

While I'm not a regular AAR listener, I did enjoy her tonight, and I've read positive reviews of her in online discussions among Air America listeners. She would be a nice calming voice as I prepare for bed, but maybe that's better for an NPR station rather than AM talk.
