LAURA FM IN DALLAS

KISS-FM/Dallas Flips to Laura-FM! From RadioOnline
Clear Channel Media and Entertainment's 106.1 KISS-FM – will officially change its name to 106.1 LAURA-FM in support of Laura Diosdado who is fighting for her life and to help raise awareness of Cystic Fibrosis (CF) as well as raise funds for research to one day find a cure.
Laura Diosdado is a spunky Freshman at Boyd High School in McKinney and by looking at her you wouldn't know she has CF. Because of this genetic disease that affects the lungs and pancreas, at 15 years old, Laura is literally fighting for her life, due to complications from her CF.
In honor of such a brave young lady, 106.1 KISS-FM will become 106.1 LAURA-FM tomorrow (2/16) from 9am until 12 midnight. Donations can be made at www.1061LAURAFM.com on behalf of Laura's Legacy that will directly benefit Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Northeast Texas Chapter.

I applaud a corporate radio station doing something completely selfless to raise awareness of a form of cancer and in support of a local who is unfortunate to have this burden. That's community support!

This is why when stations name themselves "Taylor-FM" when Taylor Swift comes to town, it irks me. "Laura-FM" is actually a very good idea.
