Laura Ingraham Robbed?

Rule #1...never pack anything worth a lot of bread in luggage that can be inspected! ;)

Rule #2...There is no rule #2 ;D

Rule #3...Some where Ed Shultz even feels sorry........NAH!

Sorry. Not overly sympathetic. What can you do with a cross worth $10,000 that you can't do with one worth, say ten dollars? Why bring something that valuable along anyway? It's not like she has to have it to do her next show, or whatever. Still, I hope the robber(s) is/are found and she gets her property back, but c'mon.

Her $10,000 cross was stolen?

The Lord sure works in mysterious ways.

Still, she better be careful; If she keeps complaining, the TSA will stick her on that myriad no-fly list that's near impossible to get off of!
Laura al Ingraham? Hmmmmm...sorry....can't let you on!

If you've got something worth that much money you just HAVE to travel with... you carry it. You don't put it in checked luggage that is out of your control for most of the trip.

Why keep it private if the TSA is stealing? If they didn't rifle through her stuff they never would have known it was there. Granted, it probably isn't a good idea to pack something of value, but that is no excuse for theft, whether or not you like her politics. Victims have rights. They would have made her take it off when she went through security anyway.

Wait… didn't Neal Boortz do this routine recently on his show? I coulda swore I heard him complaining that he saw a TSA agent steal a camera out of his or someone else's bag and when he was unable to confront them for some reason.

My guess is that if it were gold plated butt plugs that went missing, no report of theft would've been made. Blessed by the Pope or not.

I never check baggage...it's all carry on. I recently had my carry on examined by the TSA. They took my bag about 20 feet away from me, and went through everything. I watched them from a distance, and I saw them pull out my toothpaste and throw it away. They returned my bag to me and said "Have a nice day," but didn't mention the toothpaste they threw away. So I brought it up: "Did you throw away my toothpaste?" "Yes we did sir. It was larger than permitted." But they wouldn't have told me unless I brought it up. That seems odd to me. Seems to me if you're going to take something from a person's bag, you should tell them what you've done.

i wouldn` have put something as vaulable as that in my luggage on a plane unless it was carry on.that being said if the item was stolden from her by TSA it should be pointed out.

it does not matter if the victim is conservative , liberal , republican , demecrat or moderate it is equally wrong.

I have no doubt that throwing away your toothpaste made us that much safer, so stop complaining.

I know...that's what I thought! But it was such a pain to have to buy new toothpaste. When they caught the underwear bomber, I thought we were all going to have to strip.

Careful what you wish for… the latest so-called 'threat' is the concept of implanted bombs. We may be stripping so they can hunt for surgery scars one day. ;)

This story (and Boortz' from a while back) have definitely made me re-think what I may bring with me next time I fly. In previous years, I packed all my electronics in the carry-on so they were always with me. Now, that may not be such a good idea. The last time I flew, I had to demonstrate that my shortwave radio wasn't a bomb by turning it on and tuning in a local station. I think the TSA goon was more dumbfounded by the scrolling RDS display than anything. Yes, he really did question me on what that text was for. ::)

Believe me, the urge to say it was sending coded messages to spies was high!

If Federal expenses need to be cut, the TSA is a good place to start

But the minute a dirty bomb or other lethal weapon gets through and is used on an airplane, people will be asking... "What happened to all the security we're supposed to have in the wake of 9/11?"

Nah...I'd start with congress. Both sides of the aisle. ;D

As for Ms. Ingraham. Sorry to hear about her loss, but as a frequent business traveler, I can tell you that aside from a few wardrobe articles, NOTHING worth more than about twenty bucks EVER goes into my checked bag.

I've never had a problem with carry on electronics, but last November I had an issue with a package of Velveeta. I was taking it to my daughter in London so she could make a bean/onion ring casserole for a Thanksgiving dinner. (Both Velveeta and Thanksgiving are alien to the UK). I thought the Velveeta was setting off TSA alarms because it's an unidentifiable substance. Certainly a plausible explanation. Turns out however, the foil wrapper around the Velveeta brick was the problem. They eventually let it pass.

BTW, good point earlier about fulfilling the purpose of a cross for a lot less than $10K! I think mine cost eight dollars. I've also never packed it because I wear it. Which IMHO also fulfills the purpose of having it.

About 8 or so years ago, I had to play my walkman for the TSA so they knew it was a real Walkman. I intentionally had this song ready to go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiPr2jCDUm0&feature=related

I love that song, but I suspect it's not Laura Ingraham's style. ;)
