John is a big loss for HJY but BCN wouldn't be the place for him. Why go to a station that's a shadow of its former self from one fast becoming the same? BCN is a younger station aimed at listeners who never heard them during their glory days. HJY will dumb itself down and become the same. BOS is no great shakes but John will fit better there. Charles will be next. Paul and Al will keep getting their contract renewed as long as they pull numbers and advertising $$$. There'll come a point when the station decides they'll give that up and rebuild mornings at the sacrifice to some morning listener loyalty. When they decide they want to lose the upper demo of their audience they will make the move but they'll do it gradually. In 5 years HJY will be an average rocker and crow about heritage like PRO FM does but play to a different geneation of listeners who could give a damn about heritage. No one else will come along to take the rock crown away from them anyway and as their listeners become grandparents they'll be moved over to B101 which will be a classic rock station with no rock and roll mentality.

Im not sure what you are saying? Why will John be a better fit there? because they dont have ANY personality at that station at all?. When you talk about stations that are shadows of themselves you make good points but BOS was never anything of a presence, never. At the end of the day it is a job in a major market so good for him.

I don't disagree with anything you say. BOS was never a presence and any talk on that station revolves around the music and artists only. I would rather have seen John full time at WZLX or even WROR but as much as it's probably hard to leave HJY it is time and I'm glad there was somewhere for him to go, there comes a point in life where you shed the image of posing for station website photos giving people the finger and get serious about growing into a new format like listeners eventually do. As far as I'm concerned Paul and Al can deal with it and collect those paychecks. They'll find a way to lose Charles sooner or later. BOS may not be the eventual place John will land in Boston but it's a good place for now and HJY will sound like KKB did in 5 years except that they'll put more money into the morning show whoever happens to be doing it then.

WROR is even less of a place to talk or be a personality because they are all about the liners when the jocks do talk at all. Laurenti is not a personality really he was brought in basically to I.D the station because Charles was such a space cadet that he would forget to give certain info like dial position and the call letters, also spots were being missed. Laurenti's role was that of glorified board op/producer from the beginning so wbos might be the best spot for him.
