Laurie Kirby: 10/17 AM News Shift WATD

Heard WATD promote Laurie Kirby will be doing the 5AM-10 AM news shift Friday, filling in. Nice to see her get some radio work after losing her long time job at WBZ several months ago. Miss her on ‘BZ …she was excellent.

As mentioned here previously, Laurie was married to present WATD PD & long time WBZ traffic reporter Rob Hakala who is also the AM Drive host.

Oh, I wholeHeartedly (see what I did there?) concur: I miss her a lot on 'BZ ..... she was - and still is - an excellent newscaster.
 
Speaking of missed WBZ anchors - I heard Deb Lawler within the last couple of weeks also on WATD hosting a retirement/financial planning show. I assume it was a paid program but either way it was good to hear her on the air.
