LAW and Order SVU losing two main stars

NYPD from 1993 to 2005 went through several cast changes. And did okay. Though the best years were with Dennis Franz & Jimmy Smits. I think the "Andy Sipowicz" character could work on SVU. But I doubt that would happen. Maybe they could bring back Dennis Farina?

That sounds almost realistic

considering the hint of danger and even psycho behavior that Stabler has shown, I still suggest James Gandolfini, Michael Imperioli (both free), Al Pacino, Lou Pinella, John McEnroe, or BoSephus.

Didn't Imperioli already have a short stint on an L&O show a few seasons ago?

I looked it up on imdb. Imperioli played Detective Nick Falco on the original L&O - 6 episodes during the 05-06 season. It was probably during one of those typical long delays between Sopranos seasons.

Replace them with David Duchovney and Gillian Anderson. Mitch Pelleggi as the precinct captain. Call it Law and Order----Paranormal Unit.

;D. I know you're joking, but that would actually attract viewers and improve ratings - without being any more ridiculous than the show has already become.

I like this idea better: "Jenn H. & Louie Anderson! Great team! Glad to see Louie has lost a lot of weight, but I did not know he could do serious roles too. I thought he was strictly comedy!"
(found in the comment section of one of the sources out there...)

Odd enough, it might actually work!

I've been watching SVU for years, and I do have to agree that some of the episodes have been over-the-top. They had a recurring character from season 10, a young blonde guy, who worked in the crime scenes unit, and he had to be one of the most annoying characters I've ever seen in all my years as a TV viewers. Its formula has been somewhat different from the Original Series, whereas SVU is more character-driven, and of course speficially focused on Olivia and Eliott.

It is probably time to now put SVU to rest, especially if Meloni and Hargitay are leaving...at least let it end with some closure; Captain Cragen and Sgt. Munch retire, Olivia takes her supervisory role (which is already in the plans), and Elliot and Fin get promotions.

Clinton and Stacey get a chance to arrest people for looking out of style. Tara Banks is the Captain.

Go with two guys who might be looking for work soon. Ed Schultz and Glenn Beck as two partners fighting crime and each other.
