I've been wondering about this for some time and wanted to get some ideas on what others think about this...

You are having a party this Holiday season and invite in a bunch of family, friends and neighbors for a little get-together. You are playing Christmas music on your home CD outfit. Would you need a license from ASCAP and/or BMI for "public performance" like the bar rooms do?

I'm wondering about this for a reason which I'll follow up with after this thread dies down later... It should be good.

I think you're okay because it's in your home...it's still considerd a "private performance" even though there is a group of people there.

Unless you're charging admission, I don't think you
have anything to worry about.

After RIAA finishes their suit against the Girl Scouts for singing protected music around the campfire (which they did), I'll turn you in. :)<P ID="signature">______________
