The Bloomington Herald-Times reports in today's edition that Don Fisher will be joined by former Indiana State basketball coach Royce Waltman for color commentary this season. Waltman was an assistant at IU under General Knight.

Seems regrettable to have the most high-profile radio network in Indiana anchored by two senior citizens.

Why? What's your beef with experience and professionalism? Fischer may be getting up there but he's still one of the best play-callers in the business.
You have a problem with Vin Scully? He's 80 but still the best play-caller in baseball...ever.

Don is a good broadcaster. he is unique in the way he does what he does, his manner of speaking, his speech artifacts, and all the other things that make him not like the play by play wanabees. He is for better a one mold model.
Don is a hard worker. Always early, always prepared, always ready. Never surprised.
When we did the Bob Knight Show and Knight discharged his gun barrel, after eating, after his bathroom visit, or was it during the bathroom visit, he produced an expletive. Most listeners didn't know because Don went on like nothing happened. There are people that dispute this ever happened because Don made it seem like it didn't.
I grew up listening to UK and IU broadcasts. Don is old school in that it is about the game not about Don. His personality comes through in how he does what he does.
