Leased HD Radio Station Appears to be Gone

WSKQ HD2 had been leased to One Caribbean Radio (AKA The Global Mix). This locally based broadcaster proved varied programming aimed at the Caribbean community, including talk shows, and music. They naturally also had an online stream.
Over the past few days, 97.9 HD2 has only offered an open carrier. The station's website address now redirects to a computer company site. While still listed on TuneIn radio, their link fails to connect.
One Caribbean Radio had previously leased WNYH, AM 740, before moving to HD radio. Prior to that, they had been on WSNR, AM 620.
One Caribbean radio had offered Teac HD radios on their website for only $50.
The apparent shutdown of One Caribbean radio apparently leaves WVIP, 93.5 FM as the only licensed Caribbean over the air radio broadcaster in this area.

WSKQ HD2 is still broadcasting only an open carrier, since the apparent departure of One Caribbean Radio. This has been the situation since around the beginning of the year.
I wonder why WSKQ doesn't simply shut it down, or broadcast some filler programming.

One Caribbean Radio returned to WSKQ HD2 sometime today. Their redesigned website is also back. I heard a dj say they are "Back in business," but he did not elaborate.Their audio sounds very good. Once again they are advertising the solidly built Teac HD table Radio for only $50.
If OCR can succeed on HD2, it may pave the way for other local broadcasters to lease time on HD subchannels.

Gosh, I hope so. I liken hd-x as the millennium version to an SCA. It can be a great revenue source and help to minimize the pirates who truly want to legalize themselves with better signals than they could achieve with "pirate power" and do it, legally.

Yeah, I know... But it's worth a shot since the technology is already there.
