Lebanon NH Spring Book

WOW Clear Channel! GRRR-WOOF! My Big Girlfriend at cc is celebratin' TO-Night!!! And Clear Channel is takin' over the local markets, which is about time! I hope they steal the local businesses next! However its another sad note, and downer for the ol' Welldone. Although, I have been told he Can claim to have brought the Wolf UP!! Whoopie!... I say it's gotta be all those trackers from out of the area, and Max Cady doin' it for his councilor... KIXX number ONE, Q levels and ties with Wolfie and Kiss. Steve does an awesome job with 93.9 and Mike Barrett saves XL 92! What heroes, I love those big boys!!...wink-wink!! Oldies, back down again! Not sure who's in charge there these days, although I caught this terrible guy doing afternoons one day. He sounded slower than maple syrup on a cold day up here on the farm in Sharon! Guess, things will continue to slip and sink without Mr. Garrett!!! Oh, well, I must get back to milkin' got production deadlines to meet!

Ms. Mary ;)

While the Q's numbers look good on paper, truth is from a sales point of view it's still the loser. Add up the two CC rock-based formats in town and Q looks pretty silly.

It's all about divide-and-conquer in a market where few owners own lots of signals.

I heard the Nassau ratings party will be at Grenache at Centerra Park. Call Frisch for your table reservations. That is, unless he's at his moonlighting gig at McDonalds.

Wow! The real story...

Uncolored by the spin of out of work former Vox employees:

Q-106: Tied for #1 with the most desirable adult demo, and, the undisputed choice of adult men. There's no need to combo sticks to make this story a success. The questionable thing here is Imus. Seems that the rest of the station has caught up, which makes his show expendable.

The Wolf - this is a shocker to me!: #2 in a tie for the grown women; #1 for the middle-lower half of that group. Positively astonishing.

KIX showed gains on track with Q and Wolf in respective male/female demos, but has to be concerned. The 800 pound gorilla has to settle for ties in the most key demos.

XL92 is the HUGE...and I mean HUGE winner with women. This station is performing incredibly well. Must be the music as the rest of the station is just "OK". Nice job, though!

Oldies is a letdown, as is WEBK and The Fox.

WFRD is a disaster. Thank goodness it doesn't have corporate to answer to! Of course at its core it's a Vox operation. Too bad. It could be a great place to learn. In the meantime all we can do is watch it slowly burn.

I think the amazing stories are the Nassau stations despite all the changes and attrition (and the questions about how well Q-106 will fair next time around with the PD change), and, XL92 for such a solid uphill climb with the audience that advertisers crave most.

Both "players" in the market - Clear Channel and Nassau - have good stories to tell on the street based on this book. Now the market will be even more competetive. Watch for both sides to seek and exploit opportunities that will move this market much further ahead!

Have a day!
