LED scroll sign with new Sage Endec 3644

Anyone have an LED scroll sign that works with the new blue boxes? Thinking about putting one in a studio to see if it helps the operators notice the messages better, a 19" rackmount option would be especially cool!

The Alpha Beta Brite that works with the 1822 will work with the 3644. I have bought all of them off ebay. Too big for rack mounting though.

I have the sign in-house. I hooked it up to COM4 at 9600 baud and changed the device to "LED Sign". The screen goes blank (which is good, we weren't wanting it to show the time). Did you have to do any additional programming to get the sign to beep & display a message? Does it only display incoming messages? If so, is there a way I can test it without waiting for a message to come through? Thanks!

Kay, I got it. The EndecsetD settings for "beep" and "display time" didn't take on the unit for some reason. But they worked when I did them through the front menu. So I have a working LED sign, thanks for the input!

That should be it - no programming on the sign should be necessary. You can fire off a weekly test - it should scroll that.

Plus, if you have the remote control (like I do) you can set up "special" messages to scroll for the jocks for your entertainment. ;D

[flash][red] "THE END IS NEAR: KISS YOUR @## GOODBYE"

When I first installed the sign in the control room, I had it scroll:

"Dan, please see me in my office immediately after your shift - Stan"

Dan being the morning guy and Stan being the GM.

Dan had sweat stains from his armpits to his belt.

Perhaps the most appropriate phrase to make a jock sweat these days:
"WQQQ: A CUMULUS STATION"
