Led Zeppelin on KONO?

couldnt believe my ears, but turns out they're doing a top 500 countdown of the 1970s. I've heard some great songs that I'm sure will never be played on KONO again except during this countdown. Is this just a holiday thing or are we going to see changes at KONO?

Expect KONO to play more and more of the classic rock bands like Led Zeppelin from now on. Same thing happened to KLDE in Lake Jackson (Houston) about a year ago. More classic rock, less "Oldies". KLDE plays The Who now, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, etc. and being that KONO and KLDE are both Cox properties in each respective market, I would suspect that KONO is making some adjustments for the near future.

I wouldn't count on that dumb move helping ratings any.
How many OTHER stations play the STones, Aerosmith, Led Zep or other hard rock?

Plus, moving KONO into the 70s and dissing the 50s and 60s has helped this once legendary oldies station lose much of it its luster as a great oldies station.

FM oldies, er "greatest hits" stations across the country are doing this. Baby boomers have been deemed demographically undesirable.

I know that's the wrongheaded trend, but stations that swerve too far to the hard rock shouldn't expect to retain their heritage status as they drive listeners away.
