http://www.sandiegoradio.org/ reports that Lee Marshall has died. They say his wife posted the news on Facebook, but it apparently cannot be seen by "non-friends."
I worked for Lee at KCBQ in San Diego and when was hired to become KHJ news director he promised me a job there and shocked the heck out of me when he followed through and I got to work at KHJ during it's last days as Top 40, alongside Bobby Ocean, Rick Dees, Mucho Morales, Banana Joe, etc.
Lee was a teller of big stories in that big voice of his and I certainly never worked with a more colorful news person in radio.
