THE LEGAL ID
I was listening to the Bob & Tom Show on Champaign's 105.9 this morning, and they went to a local break at 5:56.
But 105.9 missed the cue and aired the entire Indianapolis feed.
So I heard, on a Champaign radio station, an Indianapolis traffic report (fender-bender on I-465), a slew of Indy car dealer commercials (pretty good prices, too), and then the top-of-the-hour legal ID: "WFBQ, Indianapolis."
Was this a one-in-a-million mistake? Does nobody care about legal IDs anymore?
Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I feel like I've often heard illegal legal IDs ("WXXX, your more-music station, Anytown") and sometimes no ID at all at the top of the hour. Please tell me I'm just a confused old man.
