Legendary UGA broadcaster Larry Munson dies at 89

"ATHENS -- Larry Munson, who became beloved by Georgia fans during decades of broadcasting, passed away on Sunday night, the school confirmed.
The legendary broadcaster died at the age of 89, at his Athens home from complications from pneumonia."

I had the honor and priviledge to work with Larry up in Athens during the 80s when WRFC was flagship for the Georgia Football Network. He was indeed one-of-a-kind and he has been and will be forever missed! With that, my hat is off to my old AM96 friend Scott Howard for doing the impossible...following Munson...and doing it well!

Good-bye, Mr. Munson & thank you. You have been a part of Georgia Football for so long - even in retirement - that it is hard to believe you are no longer with us. You are - you forever will be - missed. You had as much to do with me becoming a UGA student and Bulldog fan as any other person, and in many ways, much more than most people. You made the University proud all of those years as it's de facto ambassador on radio. We are grateful!
