Legends of Boston radio?

Well, they may not all deserve the title "legend,"
but I was wondering whatever became of some of Bean
Town's best radio personalities. Remember now, I'm
in Upstate NY - out of touch and over-taxed - so be
kind (some may have gone on to that great radio station
in the sky):
Jess Cain (WHDH); Jay Dunn (WBZ); Al Gates (WRKO);
Arnie "Woo Woo" Ginsberg (WMEX); Len Lawrence (WEEI);
Bob Starr (Voice of the Patriots on WBZ); Who was the
newspaper columnist who had a Sunday night show - maybe
on WBOS - in the mid/late 60s? That oughta keep ya busy?

Let's not overlook....

...Bob Katsen (Jerry Williams awful sidekick) with his sweaty upper lip. Second Worlds Worst Talk Show host of All Time!...still reigning as Worlds Worst EVER...Former Large Headed Producer Dick Tetlow!

Bob Starr passed away a decade or so ago, I think. He did Sox games w/ Castiglone for a few years after Ken Coleman retired.
______________

I don't know about the others, but I saw "Woo Woo" Ginsburg a few years ago in 2003. He's in his late 70's (perhaps 80 by now?), and as of then he was alive and well, retired, and living somewhere up on the Maine coast.

Charles has to be in the top 5. I'd also vote for Norm Nathan, of RKO,HDH and BZ, along with the first overnight guy I ever heard on the air, Larry Glick.

Re: Let's not overlook....

...WBZ's Bruce Bradley...talker Paul Benzaquin...and the "feller" who started
all the talk, Sherm Feller.

(Oh, the late nite host on WBOS from the previous post...Ken Mayer.
He wrote the "Night Mayer" column in the Herald.)
Edited by ThatManDan on 02/17/06 11:22 AM.

Re: Let's not overlook....

I'd like to add Joe Green (in the 'BZ copter), Gus Saunders and Louise Morgan from WNAC(now WRKO) radio.
______________
