Legit 2012 Columbia questions

1) Will someone buy Inner City? What will they do with it?
2) Will someone buy Double O? What will they do with it?
3) Will Cumulus change formats on any sticks in Columbia or Charleston?
4) Who will become the latest short-stay Manager of Columbia Clear Channel?
5) Who is the next "name" in Columbia lose their gig?

wow. When its listed like that, you realize Columbia could see more changes this year than its seen in a long time. Probably long overdue

Maybe Entercom will buy the ICCB stations... Don't think it would happen, but anything is possible. Could Miller try to buy the Double O stations??? Even stranger things have happen LOL... CC1

I think format changes at Cumulus are a foregone conclusion. It's just a matter of when and what.

At Inner City, DM and WHXT are pretty safe, Fox more likely than not. WARQ is busy self-immolating. If they have even a decent book next week, it would probably be the result of diary placement. My initial call -- now 8 days out -- is 1.7 12+ or less.

Since these are FM stations there will no dought be a buyer sooner or later. The real question is who, can someone like Miller swing the cash flow to buy Double O and still keep his other stations running in these hard times. Will someone new come along that can afford to take some weak stations in a medium buy them and work with them, who knows. I do believe IC will be bought by another company if a price is reached that can be lived with in these hard times. Prices today are much higher on all radio stations (especialy AM's) than the market value should be right now so this will effect evereything about these stations even if they are FM's and their future. I remember back when 107.5 then Q 107.5 had to close their doors and turn out the lights (and times were not bad then). It took them a little over a year off air to work a deal, new ownership, and put The Big Bubba WBUB on the air so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next.
