Leonard Kahn’s CAM-D

When was this? I was working at WJDX-AM when they were AM stereo in the late 80's. I never noticed the platform motion on my Sparkomatic car radio or my Sony portables. I do know platform motion was an issue early on, as CW stated.
Platform motion occurs when there is another signal on the same licensed frequency. The condition only happens when there is a slight difference in actual operating frequency. I have never heard platform motion either.

I heard some massive platforming on CKMX a bunch of years ago, sitting in the car waiting about 2 hours for the (now ex-)wife to return from the mall. I think it may have been local interference since I don't think there are any other receivable stations (here, anyways) on 1060 and I was sitting in a car park about 100 feet from an electrically-noisy shopping centre.
