Les Acree health update

Les had a massive stroke Sunday morning in Memphis, TN. He's in ICU at Baptist Hospital there... they don't know the extent of damage yet... He was brought out of a drug-induced coma Monday, and was able to recognize his son Ryan Monday afternoon, althought he was unable to speak. He's currently running a fever, and that's keeping the docs from relieving the blockage that caused the stroke.

Please keep Les and his family in your prayers...

Sad...My husband just spoke with him Saturday and he sounded great. Spoke with Les' sister yesterday and they don't think he'll make it. His artery is 100% clogged and he would risk another stroke that would definately kill him. His sister said he being deprived of oxygen slowly because of the artery and he is slowly dying. Keep them all in your prayers. God Bless Les. We love you!

I visited Les this evening at 6 pm central. He is still in ICU. He is off the ventilator, but is taking oxygen and being fed through a tube.. He is awake and was aware that I was there. In fact, he smiled when his brother told him I was there.

I don't know the extent of the damage. His brother edidn't want to do a lot of talking in front of Les. When I know more, I'll pass on to all.

Thanks HWG...we talk to his sister everyday. I know she is having allaboutcountry.com post twice a day on his condition.Glad he has friends there to see him. Wish we could! Thanks for the update and if you go see him again...tell him "Gator and Sheila" said hello and we wish him the best and a fast recovery. Thanks in advance for any info you have.

(from AllAboutCountry.com)

Les has been moved from Baptist Hospital to Baptist Rehabilition Center in Germantown, Tenn. His sister, Geri, who has been keeping AllAboutCountry up to date on his progress, files this Thursday (4/26) report, “They moved him late yesterday afternoon, Just 10 days after his stroke. So basically in 10 days he has gone from ‘we don’t know if he is going to make it’ to a Rehab Center. That’s remarkable progress. His son and daughter-in-law are in town and we visited last night. He was extremely tired and slept a lot, but he had been up a lot, they put him in a wheelchair and he ate in the dining room of the rehab center.”
