Les Perry has announced that today's "Saturday Club with the Beatles" will be his last one as he is retiring after 55 years in broadcasting...24 years at KCSN...Sad to see him go...
I have always enjoyed his shows. Thanks Les.Les Perry has announced that today's "Saturday Club with the Beatles" will be his last one as he is retiring after 55 years in broadcasting...24 years at KCSN...Sad to see him go...
I believe KGB (101.5) still has a Sunday morning all Beatles show...Confirmed the last station to broadcast the Beatles is with KLOS
I'm very sad as well...I'm guessing Les would not have "retired" if KCSN had not made recent program changes...me thinks that his program was being cancelled. (I don't think I would have wanted to retire from playing Beatles records once a week.)Thanks everyone for posting information about the disappearance of Les Perry, and the Saturday Club with the Beatles. I happened to miss his last show, and was very disappointed in the lack of notice prior to his retirement, as well as fanfare after. In fact, I was quite confused the past couple of Saturdays wondering what had happened, so I searched KCSN (both their app and online blog), and found nothing. The only thing I saw about it online was a Twitter post announcing the retirement and this thread.
After so many years sharing my Saturday mornings with Les and the Fab four, I’ve got to say I feel really sad that he’s gone out with a whisper and not a bang.
