Leslee Lacey takes the fall for CBS 1010!

I've been reading these threads about Leslee Lacey and all I have to say is....RIDICULOUS!!! CBS should be ashamed of themselves for letting one person take the fall for what supposedly the entire team did. Tisk, Tisk, 1010...YOU guys don't get it! The Chix were the best thing about that station. What happened to Leslee Lacey and the Chix is pathetic. I'm a long time listener of the show. The slot right now is a snoooooozzzzer!!! I don't care about Arbitron ratings or who did what!

CBS Wake Up!!! These Chix need to be back on the air. You guys need to think of the fans and the radio audience. I miss the show and Leslee's, "Believe It or Not" - Crazy News Segments. Bring HER and the SportsChix BACK! They need to be back on the air. Wait, here's an idea, can anyone say SIRIUS!!!!

I believe she's moved on. According to her LinkedIn profile, she's currently an "on-air reporter at Metro Networks".

I've been reading them too and here is just one of the threads from the Sportschix topic that explains what's going on...

"ummm.....The reason Lynne Austin is not on air is because she was reportedly busted for having a hand in filling out Arbitron diaries at CBS. You are obviously referring to the Leslee Lacey reference, which had nothing to do with the Chix show being canceled. That’s the travesty of this site..a bunch of uninformed idiots without any credible info write whatever they want. After Lacey was taken off air, the show continued…"then" CBS found out by arbitron that Lynne Austin had a hand in filling out three diaries, months before the Lacey fiasco. And Anthony Fordyce was reportedly involved as well in that scandal. He was a member of the Sportchix too as their producer and part owner, and so that’s why the show was axed."

*Here's my thought on this, I think it's a total cover-up on 1010's part, slamming the talent and screwing the fans. You have my VOTE for Sirius, forget AM radio. It's so 20th century. I say bring back the Chixs!

CBS just needs to throw in the towel and dump 1010 once and for all. They've sold way better stations in the past so why hold on to this lemon. I'm sure Genesis or anyone would love to have it so they too can program something no one will want to hear. Dummies never should have gotten rid of 620 WSUN.

CBS might have a plan, but we don't know what it is. No company wants to have a station with no ratings and bad signal. Hey, they just swapped the dial between WSJT and WILD which takes effect this coming week. Who knows what are the plans (if any) for 1010.

There are rules and a code of ethics that must be adhered to in any sport. I would expect self-proclaimed fans to understand this "fact of the field." With that said, most radio professionals should have a working knowledge of the ethics and rules of the great game of radio. I don't expect a former Hooter's girl who served chicken wings for tips to understand why it is unethical to accept and fill-out an Arbitron diary (or two, three, or seven). Perhaps, this is an occupational misunderstanding. I'm sure there are some rules involved in battering up and serving a plate of delicious, spicy-hot wings. For example, the waitresses at Hooters must wear pantyhose. I don't really get it, but it's a Hooter's law, and the girls have to do it if they want to work at this fine establishment. The same applies to the rules of radio. We may not like it, but we must obide by them in order to stay in the game.

For non-radio professionals who follow this board, I hope I was able to simplify the reason why the Sports Chix are no longer on-the-air. It's not because they didn't wear pantyhose. We would prefer they didn't wear anything at all. It's because they broke the rules of our occupation.
