Leslie Fram fired!

A buddy of mine told me that Dickey is claiming that Fram might stick around to program 99x HD-2, since it's sticking around. (At least, he says that's what it says on AllAccess.)

The funniest thing about this whole 99X morning disaster is they had Tim Andrews, one of the top talents in town, cooling his heels on the payroll and were too stupid to figure out how to use him. Any management that stupid deserves to eat it.

I thought the whole station flipped and the show was canned? I need to read more about this breaking news before I comment next time.

In any event, raise one for Leslie and everyone who has milked the absolute maximum out of remarkably average talent.

Oh, c'mon. I'm happy some good people get to stay...happy some people may be gone, happy some new people may be coming onboard...but that's just not necessary.

indeed, she had more lives than two cats put together!

Any bets on how long before the Regular Guys blow it again.
And while we go on over this, the money keeps rolling into B98 and the River. Women demos, Women numbers, gobs of women dollars while 4 new morning shows try to find identity all at once. This is nuts.

While I don't believe TRG is coming back. The hard part to believe besides Eric working with Larry again is that Southside Steve is working on another station. It was reported elsewhere before Rodney posted it. It could still be Larry spreading the rumor but who knows. If they were coming back Cumulus would not want Larry breaking the news. At this point they would want to spend this time with the sole focus on Q and Bert moving to 99.7. Even if true they would probably make him rescind it.

I think it's fairly obvious that TRG don't need Southside to operate. There is no way Larry and Eric will work together anyway.

BRING BACK POWER 99!!!!!

All 80s!!!!!

:)

Oh the sonovox Jam jingles, the (Techsonics?) production library, the laser shots, the Mark Driscoll imaging, the compression, the reverb! Number #1 in music & fun!

If Power 99 had lasted all these years (and it damn sure should have...Rick Stacy are you reading this?) it would sound a lot like Q100 does today.

And Q100 is going to sound incredible on 99.7. As much as I hated 99X, their processing and simple loudness was sonically pleasing.

I realize that but initially Larry said he was also going to be on the show that is all I meant. But SS Shirley made the show better.

I'd hate to be at Star 94 after this. They blinked big time.
I cannot believe Crumulus clued in and grew some. Amazing.
New year, new attitude Mr. D??? You go, girlfriend..

Might as well trash the team you want to buy. Maybe this will
be like the Whole Foods/Wild Oats buyout and Rodney Ho
is the guy sending the e-mails. I am actually almost proud
of Crum.

Maybe it's time to change the most used phrase to:

How will this affect Star 94??

Steve and Vicki - is Dickey smoking something? Vicki is done. Keep the rock Cumulus or see what protesting will do.

I think I've been doublecrossed, that John Dickey is trying to misdirect us away from the fact they have hired the Regular Guys. Hmm.... I'll keep digging around over the weekend.

Honestly, I think all signs really do point to the original idea. I think we'd have heard of many more firings today had they really been planning to go soft rock at 100.5. I mean, why only specifically fire Fram, Jenners, and Steve? If you're firing the morning show, why not just say that you're firing the morning show? The guys not mentioned as being fired (Andrews, Owens, Sebas) would fit perfectly with an RG morning show.

Plus, the whole Steve/Vikki thing couldn't happen until the summer. Keep the staff they have, let it go dude-rock for six months, then blow it up in the summer if it doesn't work.

Naturally, Cumulus could just be holding the firing announcements until after the transition is finished.

I somewhat disagree. If Power 99 had lasted, it might have sounded a lot like Q100 did two years ago before Susquehanna sold to Cumulus. But to paraphrase Sen. Lloyd Bentsen in the debate with Sen. (and future VP) Dan Quale in 1988: "Cumulus, your no Susquehanna".
