Leslie Fram out at 99X?

Both Radio Insight and the AJC are reporting that Leslie Fram has left The Morning X. They’re reporting she’s been replaced as co-host by Crash Clark.

I saw this on social media on Wednesday and assumed it was an April Fools joke. But with at least 2 publications reporting it, perhaps not.

My understanding is that she's been doing this remote from Nashville. It was originally as a favor to her good friend and former boss Brian Philips.

Not just remote, but pre-recorded the evening before for the 7-9am hours with the archived audio from the 90s and 2000s running in the 6 and 9am hours.. They're also seeking a new producer for the show with the expectation it will go live in the morning.

There was absolutely no mention of her departure or any introduction into the new show with Crash. Just a new logo, that’s it. Why can’t they say anything about her leaving? At least say goodbye. There’s a lot of history there. So odd.

Well, because it’s radio. That said, I agree with you. This was kind of a unique situation. They could have let her frame it as she decided to retire.

What’s odd (besides announcing her departure on April 1) is I heard a promo for the Morning X this afternoon featuring audio from the reboot. Leslie is featured in it (both her talking and Barnes talking to her and saying her name).

Don’t radio stations scrub former personalities from promos when they leave?

The overall pattern is to scrub former personalities (regardless of reason) from mention, yes. But in the last 8-10 years I have noticed there are more instances of a legacy host getting a goodbye even if the separation wasn't 100% voluntary, remaining show members discussing a layoff/resignation and acknowledging the missing member of the show, etc.
