Have any of you guys heard if Dusty Rhodes is involved with this station,if he is I know it will be great.. Anymore, rumors on other personalites for this station?? Do you guys think with this small power of this station, will it have a impact on the success of the station?? One thing I will say, Please don't sell you late night air space to an Religious organization..(please,please)...

Were is the tower and studio's located??? (price hill)

I don't live in Cincinnati anymore.. Can any of you guys, tell me how well is the station coming in a night?? I thought at night the frequency had a problem with competting with a station out of Chicago or somewhere in the midwest, and if the Post or Enquirer had a article on this new station.. I can't wait to hear it over the net....

Also, one more thing.. Please tell all of your "Oldies Junkies" friends that a new station has come back, so we can support this station and hopefully it will last for a long time to come..

Welcome back WDJO to Cincinnati...

Dusty will be on the station and they will be streaming soon. It will be another "good reason to listen here."

Honestly...if Oldies on AM was still viable, the old WDJO (1230) never would have gone away in the first place.

HD Radio will help oldies on AM a lot...

A. It will take HD a long time to catch on.

B. When it does, FM will still have a distinct sound advantage, making it the first choice for HD listeners.

C. A lot of engineer-types on this and other boards say that HD has a lot of technical problems, particularly on AM.

I actually like the selection of oldies they play, but I just don't see this taking off.

The fact that this is Alchemy's only property makes it more imperative that it turns a profit. A large company like CC or CBS can absorb a losing station here and there. There might even be some tax advantages to this. But if a stand-alone doesn't make it, all of the company's capital gets drained and they have to get out of the game. Just ask John Thomas, whose WCIN is going into receivership.

From a programming standpoint, AM oldies stations don't get the numbers. From a sales standpoint, it's difficult to get agencies to buy upper-skewing stations, particluarly those that can't be combo'd with "clusterbuddies", as R & R likes to call them.

Honestly, if Oldies on AM is dumb, and not viable, then I guess this list of AM Oldies stations are getting ready to be bid on at Sheriff's auction or going dark...

www.bbhq.com/radio.htm

Check out the list of AM Oldies stations above, and tell us they're not viable. The creditors only let you go so long with a business plan that's not viable.

WSAI, WDJO at 1230, etc. etc. are a different era. Let's move on and enjoy some songs we haven't heard on Radio in a long time. I happen to think their mix of oldies is pretty good, and I don't know jack!

Who ever said that the only way to get sales was through Agencies? Ever hear of selling direct to businesses? I have seen a lot of creative ideas come from sales people who sell direct.

Awhile back the "Music of Your Life" format saved many AM stations. Upper demos didn't seem to be a problem then.
