It was a 1984 hit by a one-hit wonder but I've never heard a version like this. It sounds like a dance remix, but I never once heard a remixed version in the 80s.

I don't know if there's even anything to link to since I was hearing it live.

I didn't mention the station was AC. That version won't be on an AC. Some of what was there after the introduction did sound like what I heard, but all these interruptions sound more like a dance station or at least a CHR.
