let's get some action going

Let's get some action going on this site before the main company takes it away from us. Surely there are some pertinent topics that need to be posted and discussed. It has been eons since we heard from Satelite Man. Is he still in business? Also, what's new at the swamp? Me? I'm getting the fry wagon cleaned up and serviced in order to "hit the circuit" Memorial Day weekend. I have raised my prices 5% this year. I think the economy has become stable and is rebounding.

don't know if anyone has noticed, but there are now two independently-owned stations
in the area that play americana....wqbr/the bear in mcelhattan plays a mix of top 40 country
and americana; wphb in philipsburg mixes classic country with americana. other innovations in
the market? (sound of crickets...)

Steve Biddle has replaced Wes Richards on WBLF. The latter was high energy center-left and concentrated on the local news of the day and the national news that affects the central PA area, while the former is more more largo in delivery, self absorbed in content and focused on generic conservative causes.

Is Steve related to Dave, longtime broadcaster/newsman in central Pa. Dave came from Huntingdon I believe.

There has been no action going on in Altoona since....
A. Bill Rock on hit power WFBG
B. WFBG had a 30.7 share
C. Tony Booth stumbled at the Mischler
D. Sean McKay switched to Q94 FM
E. Forever yours washed into town

P.S. Fryman.... I understand the Clearfield County Fair has a no rate increase policy in effect this year. 5% unacceptable. Last year's rate is frozen.

I will probably boycott Clearfield and settle for the Grange Fair in Centre Hall. I've been there before, not much fun, no rides but I'll do it to make a point to the bigwigs trying to run Clearfield!
