Let's see who you want back?

If you could bring any jock, format, or day part back to NYC radio who what and when, and how would you re-incarnate it today. No right or wrong answer, this is strictly based on your taste and for fun.

Mine would be: Paco Lopez, pm drive from Hot 97 back in early 90's

I would love to have that energy back on the airwaves today on 92.3 Now

Remember at 4pm the yell.. "Que pas a Nueva Yooooooooooooooooooooooooorrrrrkkk"

I think everyone knows my answer here... :)

But to bring someone back, I'll say Efren Sifuentes (103.5 'KTU). He has a smooth delivery, connected well with the listeners. When we get a new station back on the FM dial, I'd love for him to return along with some of the Pulse staff.

Everyone knows my answer too, but there are other formats I miss.

I wish we could bring back 102.7 Blink. I loved its format of a mix of CHR, old CHR other stations stopped playing, and AC. Music, gossip, entertainment.

Another format I miss was the KTU of the early 2000s. Back when it actually was a dance station with my favorite DJ Vic "What's Crack-a-lackin" Latino. It's what got me into dance music in the first place.

92.7 WLIR !This was the station the station that dared to be different. They had an interesting format that wasnt lame and boring, they had Dj's with personality, great music and fun times.
Larry the duck,Mailibu Sue and all the gang, most are floating around,it could be possible.
This was a hard station to get in,but was well worth it,wish it could come back with at least 6,000 watts and a NY stick.New wave and 80s,heck sirius has a channel like this, why not dull FM?Oh wait, its not hip hop.

Agreed, Bell is a good guy.

Another good person who deserved a better sendoff: Diane Pryor. Not sure if she is back on the air here.

The WPIX format of 1978-80. New Wave, 60's hits, Zappa, no wimpy rock. Meg Griffin, Joe from Chicago, Alfredo, The Simone Phone, even Dr. Demento! :D

I loved the punk/new wave WPIX FM, way head of it's time;
and yes, they played Wayne County, Cherry Vanilla, and the Psychotic Frogs, right alongside The Sex Pistols, Ramones, The Vibrators, Blondie,Fabulous Poodles,Patti Smith,Lene Lovich,The Clash,Elvis Costello, Johnny Thunders, Nick Lowe, and on and on..

WNEW 102.7 from the mid 70's. Hands down. You know, I'd even take the 80's incarnation these days.

I'll second or third that - Diane Prior - fun connected with whatever crowd KTU was targeting at that particular time, always had solid numbers in the ratings and was just always nice to me!

Which stream?

The stream that last fall decided to mix Shinedown. Creed. 3 Days Grace, Nickleback, Paramour, and that punk band from Chicago into its mix of My Morning Jacket, Snow Patrol, Phoenix, etc.

I'll also throw it out there: I miss the new Mix 102.7.

Granted it was a total niche format, but I thought it was great and was sad to see it go.  Before Mix 102.7 I thought Disco was the BJ's and Donna Summer.  Mix 102.7 introduced me to Chic, Cheryl Lynn, Evelyn King, Shalamar, Heatwave, and a bunch of one hit wonders.

Show me someone who doesn't get picked up by disco and I'll show you a liar.
