LET'S SUGGEST SOME FORMAT CHANGES FOR 2012!

Thank you for your replies, everyone. And no, I'm not retarded or on drugs. I'm just suggesting some changes. If we can't get HD feeds for the stations I suggested, we can expand the FM band to 76 mHz. and the AM frequency to 2000 kHz. And we can put the stations in the expanded bands. Also, I'd like to bring back AM stereo and have FM stations try FMExtra.
And go to all the companies that make radios (or mp3 players with radios in them) and have them start to manufacture radios to have the FM dial go all the way back to 76 MHz.
Of course many older radios won't be able to receive it. "We've got a great new station at 81.1 FM...

btw some mp3 players with radios, and record capability, aren't bad. I have an RCA Opal (made by
audiovox I think) and recorded much of my show Sun on 91.7, listened back last night and it was
pretty good. Of course the radio was FM only...I could have recorded an AM station though, by
having one walkman tuned to the AM freq and putting a mini FM transmitter on that walkman...
set to a certain freq (like 88.5) and tuning the mp3 player/radio to that freq., and recording.

Jerry Williams and Larry Glick would still be on WBZ and Jess Cain would wake me up in the mornings on WHDH.
WRKO would be top 40 with Charlie Van Dyke and WJIB would be "beautiful music on 96.9 FM from historic commercial wharf..ding ding".
WBCN would have Chaaarles on in the mornings, and Robert J would be spinnin' the wax at WGBH.

One modification though, WAAF (both 97.7 and 107.3) have been as good as dead for sometime. I would change the format from Active Rock to a format with an emphasis on all-guy talk. Man radio. Talk for men. Something stupid like 107.3 and 97.7 MAN FM "Leave the room ladies...the men are going to do some talking." Like Spike TV on the radio.
Other than that, I would boost 92.5 the River's signal so that it reaches more south of the Mass Pike.
Maybe I am now the one who is on drugs.
If HD FM were to make it then some of these formats could be viable.
Like to see it happen. AM IBOC stinks and should die. The idea of moving Class C and D AMs to an expaneded FM 76-88 is a good idea. There are very few full power digital TV stations on Ch. 5 or 6.in the US Also room for LPFM and more noncomms there too.

This is one of the most hilarious threads in the history of Radio-Info.
The FCC should tell pirate operators they can stay on air but they must move to between 76 and 88
on the FM dial

If it were possible don't you think Steven Silberburg would have gone for any power increase or site move closer to Boston possible, there are such things as severe short spacing problems involving first adjacenbt WPRO-FM at 92.3, WWYZ-FM co-channel also at 92.5 and several class A's. Non technical readers of this board seem to think that just because they want something it can or should be done. Have they never heard of communications law or the law of physics.
