Let's look around the landscape.

B-Jam = 5000
Disco Reunion = 5000
95X-fest = 1200 (TOPS!)

K-Rockathon = 12,000 + (I'll have details later because we're still counting - bitches)

mmm ... My math says that this "so-so" line-up out-delivered the other radio festivals, collectively . These stations are the "premiere" stations, the "BIG BAD" stations of syracuse and now they lay bitch-slapped like the amatures they are.

How can you promote B-Jam and Disco Reunion as one event on a bunch of your stations and only pull 5g's each. Wow, that's pathetic. CC has all the resources available to them; Critical Mass (Research), Clear Results (Event Planning), CCE (Booking & Concert Company) along with the supposed "heavy hitters" in the market (SYR,B,Hot,&Y) and they can't pull off a decent event. I'd think that at least one of those entities would have deliver'd. You didn't, you are an embarrasement.

Citadel. What the hell was that? Half-way thru the promotion of your festival, you "accidentally" drop the artists that were playing it. I guess I wasn't the only one to forget about your event. I'd hate to give you some pointers but, Alexis, you are so pathetic, I must. You are giving the rest of us broadcasters a bad name. I mean, your jocks didn't even promote your show the day before it was supposed to happen. For God Sakes WOMAN! I hear Big Smooooooooooothie intro Breaking Point, the Friday night before your event and he didn't even bring it up! PATHETIC! There wasn't even a "Hey, see these guys tomorrow". Let's forget the festival for a second. Let's talk about "message". 95X's current message is ... well, I don't know because you don't know. If you can't deliver a message of "get your tickets and see a show", how in the hell can you deliver a message of "listen to us, we are great". You can't, you are an embarrasement.

My fat lard ass body is killing me from a very long day at another extremely successful K-Rockathon, so, I'm going to sit back and let you jokers bask in my glory and greatness. Go ahead, praise me.

Thank you.

Yes, let's...

Gee, Scott, you guys drew about 12,000 this year, huh?

How many did K-Rockathon draw last year? How about the year before?

As a matter of fact, how about a look at the 10-year history of K-Rockathon and the numbers it drew. That will give us a little better yardstick to judge your amazing performance against.

Absolutely, let's look at this success and compare it to the other events of the past instead of what's actually going on in the concert business today. I know he's a pompous jerk, but with all of the radio stations around the country not even doing their signature events anymore or some losing money hand over fist, this is a pretty good result. Is it really fair to compare year to year? I think it's fairer to look at what's happening in that business now. Besides, CCE has killed the concert business by just paying artists what they want and not even negotiating.

OK, let's look at profit...

OK, instead of looking at attendance, let's look at profit. So, Scotto, how did you do? Win big? Break even? Lose your lunch?

Let's say they drew 30,000 in 2002, and they only drew 12,000 this year. A fair comparison would be based on profit from each year. I understand the basic idea is to promote your radio station, and at least break even. Getting 30,000 people to your event is a much bigger deal than 12,000. The concert biz, though down this year, hasn't lost 60% of its business.

Re: Yes, let's...

you gave out thousands of free tickets to bjam and disco.....couldn't sell them!
great job...another cc event goes up in flames!!!!

The simplest way to say it is this.... Krock is designed to hit men 18-34... that is the PRIME audience for an outdoor summer concert. It's no suprise they got good numbers.. thats what guys that age do, they go to shows. It was of no great work of scott or anyone who came before or after him that the show works, its a rock show with beer in the summer... it has to work, idiot.

Bjam and Disco don't have to draw as much because your hitting the moms and dad's... they don't all have the time to come out for a show, they have lives, kids, responsibilities....

Xfest was a bomb because of the bands... the same guy who booked your event booked xfest so I would blame him.

So before you go off praising yourself realize the show was a hit before you were there and will be next year after you are long gone. It's just that simple!
